I'm running FreNAS 9.10.2-U4. Platform: AMD Athlon(tm) II X2 250 Processor, storage (12gb).
You are watching: Freenas unable to gpt format the disk
I have actually three drives plugged right into an old desktop I'm utilizing for a FreeNAS build, running the OS on a 32gb flash drive.
I have successfully produced a volume on one of the drives.
I have to remaining 500gb drives, however I keep gaining the error: Error: unable to GPT style the disk "ada1" once I shot to develop a volume through them.

Were this drives in use beforehand? I essential to manually clear my disks that had been supplied in my XPEnology setup before FreeNAS would usage them.
sysctl kern.geom.debugflags=0x10dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/ada1 bs=512 count=1
